I drove into Athens, GA last night.. it took much longer then I'd expected because Rt 75 was filled with Construction. It took about ten hours to get in...
I arrived around 8:30pm and went to see The Avett Brothers play at 10:00 (they didn't come on until 11:30 though).. I was so exhausted by the time the show started I didn't know if I'd be able to make it through. I was in the front row the majority of the time.. the venue was packed, nobody could move. My only gripe was that I could barely hear the band over all the drunks singing along. It was pretty cool seein' The Avetts play in the south.. they're fanbase is die hard down there. Everyone knew every word and screamed them at the top of their lungs...
..though, for such avid fans.. they sure did like to turn their backs to the stage and start up conversations a lot. I don't know what the deal with that was.. Things got pretty crazy in front the stage, the bouncers had to throw a couple people out. I guess some of the energy rubbed off on me because once they started playin' I didn't feel tired in the least.
Somewhere along the drive to Athens my voice gave out and it hasn't come back yet.. it could either be because I sang along to my ipod way to much during the drive, or I might be getting sick. I really hope I'm not becoming ill... because there's a lot of open mics around here that I want to play.
Anyway, I've spent the day today walkin' around the city and exploring. It's really gorgeous here. I've been taking pictures too.. I'll post them up here soon. |

-I went to a bluegrass festival last week.. pretty cool.
-A lot of my time has been spent in Barnes and Nobel.. reading. Kind of looks like Marlton with palm trees, no?
-visual proof that I am..indeed.. alive and healthy :}
- the Cats love me here(theres four of them).. mostly because I'm the only one awake for the first half of the day..so they have noone else to pay attention to them.
Hello! Here I am in Florida... lots has happened, been pretty busy. I've read three books since I arrived here... learned a lot of new songs on guitar, and spent a lot of time on the beach. The weather's been consitantly sunny and warm since I've gotten here - not a drop of rain. I'd like to see some before I leave though... one of the best things in the world is warm-weather-rain.
Kate was here for the first four days in Ohio, it was a lot of fun having her here..and it made the drive down a breeze. She's sending me doubles of all the pictures we(she, mostly) took on her film camera.. I'll post copies of them when I get them later this week.
Uhh.. lets see. I've decided my next stop is going to be Athens, Georgia. A great place for musicians - a city built around cafe's. I don't know anybody there.. but that should change. I'm going to play music and meet some great people I'm sure. I can't wait. A number of brilliaaaaant bands came from Athens, GA - REM, Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal, Olivia Tremor Control, DJ Dangermouse... the list goes on.

I'm in gorgeous Florida now, I got in at 2am last sunday. It was a good trip, we stopped at Folly Beach in South Carolina.. which was nice. The beach was real foamy - the sort of foam that hangs on the beach even after the water goes out.
I've had a couple interesting days here so far - ups and downs, but mostly ups.

I got in from Ohio last night, it was quite the trip. I had a great time.. Kevin and Kate were great hosts.
Here's a picture from the trip, that's Kate to my left (your right) workin' on a Word-Find. I'd put a picture of Kevin up to but the only one I have is on Kate's laptop in Ohio.
I get to see my dad next week! I'll be driving up to indianapolis, I'm REALLY looking forward to it. After THAT - FLORIDA HERE I COME.
...I forgot how drafty this house was while I was in Ohio *shiver* |

I just went to a thrift store here in Columbus..and while I was thumbing through the used children's books I spotted this:
It looks like a pretty decent songbook, all the songs are christian-based as the editor, Fred Bock is a Christrian Arranger. I can't wait to get back to my guitar and play through a few of them though. With a little tweaking some of these songs can probably sound pretty good. |

... I'm still in Ohio for now, without a cell phone. I've been havin' a real good time here with a real cool bunch of people. It's been cold though, It looks like winter finally decided to hit!
I send my love to everyone back home, and mom and dad in Detroit! I'll be looking for you guys tonight at the Superbowl! |

I've made it to Ohio in one piece, the bus didn't get in until after midnight though. I took it in from Indianapolis...
Also.. I forgot to bring my cellphone charger with me,so I have no phone for the new few days. I may buy a cheap charger at target or somthing though... we'll see, depending on how expensive they are. |
